Protection against vandalism
Vandalism is any action resulting in the gratuitous destruction of or damage to public or private property.Vandalism is characterised by malicious, spontaneous and improvised acts. Vandals will therefore use parts of their bodies (fists, feet etc.) or objects that are to hand (stones, bottles etc.) to attempt to create a passage through a glazed opening. Such acts may be gratuitous (a deliberate desire to cause damage) or motivated by theft. Glass is classified as P1A to P5A in accordance with standard EN 356. Vandalism, an act which is initially non-premeditated, can lead to intrusion.
V2S offers two ranges of products which meet the requirements for protection against vandalism:
- PS®: the range of conventional laminated glass which meets all the requirements of each of the classes of the EN 356 standard
- Stop’Risk® G: especially recommended in installations where the security requirements demand levels of performance which go beyond the standards. This range also meets requirements for "anti-impact" and "anti-panic" functions, and is specifically designed to be fitted in police custody cells, 'sobering-up' cells, detention units for minors etc.
